Do You Really Want More Charisma?

Have you ever noticed that charismatic people are usually quite popular and it’s probably safe to assume that many of us envy those who have charisma. But could it also be a double-edged sword? Charisma is a learned skill so anyone has the capability to learn how to gain, and use it. But when you get it, will you be ready for it?
One thing you will notice about people who are charismatic is that they tenmd to be the constant focus of attention. That is the nature of charisma as people are naturally drawn to it. And many will enjoy the attention. But think about it for a second; if people are always coming to you at work, for instance, how are you ever going to have the time to get your own work done? Some may think that this is a good problem to have, but it can become rather frustrating and a darn nuisance if it happens too much.
People will also tend to speak to others about charismatic people. They will tell their friends and colleagues what great people they are and that they are proud to call them a friend. Of course, this could lead to those friends and colleagues seeking him or her out and this unfortunate charimatic person will have even more attention to deal with. These new people will also end up telling their friend and colleagues as well and exacerbate this even more!
If you are charismatic and people are drawn to you then they are also going to come to you for advice. They will rely on any advice you give. That may be okay if you are an expert in the subject that they asked about. But what if you are not and you give them the wrong advice and they take it.This could be potentially embarrasing for them and they could be getting into a situation that may not be good for them. While people are responsible for their own actions, it doesn’t help when someone with charisma gives advice as that advice is likely going to be acted upon. The charismatic person sometimes revels in the title of advice giver, even if the advice is not useful. This may not be intentionaly malicious, more misguided.
Your home life could also be affected by your increased charisma. You may find that more people are calling on you to join them in various activities, like joining the softball league or coaching kids soccer games. These may all be activities you wanted to get involved with but they will be ever increasing opportunities. Those days of relaxing on Sundays are suddenly a thing of the past!
For the most part, being charismatic is a good quality to have and one that most people would love to incorporate into their life. It may even put you into a leadership role along with a promotion. But be ready for the changes that happen and try to keep grounded in what it’s going to mean for others as well as the impact it may have on you and your family.
Using Goals to Start Over

At some point during your life, you may be put in a situation where you need to start over. Whatever the reason you find yourself in, setting goals for your new way of life is going to help you tremendously. It could mean the difference between making it work and stagnating. Pursuing the right goals can give you a boost in confidence that change is positive. This is crucial when contemplating starting over.
When starting over, you want to explore as many avenues as possible to see what may work for you. Take advantage of any training that may help you discover what direction you want to take. Setting up solid goals is going to help reduce your risk of becoming discouraged. This is a common affliction with people who are starting over. Writing down your goals and referring to them will ease your mind by showing you there is something to strive for.
While it is a scary proposition to start over, it can also be a time for encouragement. You can think of it as a fresh new outlook on your life and with that comes exciting new experiences that may have been missing from what you were doing before. Think back to when you first started out in your previous situation. Your memories are probably filled with looking forward to going to work each day as you were learning something new. This can happen again for you.
Ensure That Your Aim Is True

Whatever you want to achieve in life or business, you need to have a clear vision of where you are heading. Without this, how on earth are you going to know if you are on the right track or straying from your path?
Setting clear, distinct goals is like looking down the barrel of a rifle and can ensure that you are ALWAYS aiming in the right direction and keep you on track.
Having a clearly defined path also give you “stickability” because when you encounter obstacles (and you will) it will help you to remain focused on where you need to go.
Without this level of clarity, you are much more likely to give up when the going gets tough and that is doing you a disservice because you deserve the rewards that your goals will give you.
The power of goals shouldn’t be underestimated and they should be set and re-evaluated often (especially your short term goals). Use goals to give you momentum, and more importantly, to maintain it, especially when you are going through the major challenges you are going to face.
Stay strong, be resilient and you will succeed; you are just being tested to see whether you really want it and you do, dont you?
Now, sit down right now and set some goals, and take some immediate action; let’s go get ’em!
Why You Should Embrace Your Setbacks

While you are on the road to success and achievement, you are definitely going to have setbacks – some of these may be minor, and some will be major. There is no point in getting upset with these inevitable setbacks as this only makes them appear worse, and this does nothing to increase the likelihood that you’ll be able to overcome them and move forward. In fact, just the opposite happens. if you focus on your setbacks in a negative manner, you will be using up the mental energy that you could be using to move forward towards your goals!
Look at it this way; setbacks can teach you valuable lessons, but this will only happen if you view them positively. You must be aware that setbacks will happen so they won’t sneak up and surprise you. No road traveled is without a few bumps, so accept them, learn from them, and move forward!
Setbacks can show you where the gaps are within your action plan, and they can also highlight issues you may not have been aware of. So by highlighting and fixing these problems, the initial setback can actually make your process much stronger in the long run. When you come across one of these gaps, view it as a lesson and re-evaluate your plan and move forward with confidence.
Setbacks also help you develop and master problem-solving skills. Expertly solving a problem you didn’t expect and didn’t foresee will not only positively affect your process, but it will also raise your confidence level, and develop your mind at the same time.
The benefit of hindsight is great, but in all honesty there is no way to accurately foresee where a problem may appear, so you just have to work your plan, let the process unfold, and let the challenges appear where they will. These challenges will enable you to grow as a person, and will help your process by strengthening your resolve to achieve more than you ever thought possible.
Viewing challenges, problems, issues – whatever you want to call them – with a positive mind can help you view the entire process with a growth-centered mindset. Remember that if you learn from it then it is not a failure and that you have benefited and grown. And often, the lesson is simply that it won’t work the way you initially intended, so all you have to do is find an alternative!
Using setbacks to facilitate growth in your own life is the most positive way you can use the inevitable appearance of said setbacks. And don’t beat yourself up about it; tell yourself that it’s okay to experience this discomfort because it’s a sign that you’re growing and changing internally, and that is always a positive thing.
If you become resentful or demotivated by setbacks, you will use up valuable mental and physical energy that would be best used to motivate you and move you forward. Change what you can, move forward, and delight in the growth you are experiencing!
Embrace problems and grow your business and your mind, and enjoy the process!
